After receiving widespread skepticism for his creepy, dead-eyed avatar that he revealed recently, Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, unveiled a new, boyish avatar.
Furthermore, Zuckerberg promised a significant visual upgrade for Horizon Worlds, Meta’s Metaverse platform, which has received criticism for its frugal design.
Zuckerberg’s Post
On Monday, Zuckerberg shared a picture of his avatar in front of the Eiffel Tower on his Facebook profile to announce that Horizon Worlds had begun in France and Spain. The CEO acknowledged that the avatar he shared on Monday was “basic.” He also added that it was hurriedly made to celebrate the launching in France and Spain.
In order to reassure his followers, he shared a screenshot of a more attractive version of Horizon Worlds on Friday.
Horizon is rapidly developing, and the graphics there can do much more, even on headsets.
It’s frequently questioned whether the metaverse can replace in-person engagement, especially given its limitations. Earliter this year, Zuckerberg stated that the company’s Metaverse project would require huge financial resources for up to five years.
This year, the value of meta equities has decreased by 50% as Facebook’s user base declines and concerns about the company’s costly push into the metaverse grow. As revenue growth slowed in May, the company decided to stop hiring.
The new look is a big improvement for Facebook’s CEO
It is obvious that the old avatar has gathered lots of bad reactions. This new avatar significantly differs from the previous one. It’s younger, more boyish, and, to be honest, far less spooky. Of course, this new avatar is still all about Zuckerberg. It’s simply a younger version of him. He wants to demonstrate to the world that he is still active and aware of current events.
Zuckerberg says that he has been working on the upgrade for some time, and now he is pleased with how it looks. The new avatar resembles the young CEO more; while he is still bald, his face is less angular and aged. Zuckerberg claims that the graphics of the Horizon can do much more, even on headsets, and they are developing quickly.
Zuckerberg described a new avatar as “more expressive.”
Many people are curious as to why Mark Zuckerberg made a new avatar after receiving criticism for his scary, dead-eyed design. According to the Facebook CEO, the new avatar is more expressive and will improve user communication. Zuckerberg said that it would be fantastic for people to be able to express themselves in more ways. He also added that it is only the beginning. Obviously, Zuckerberg intends to make other changes to his image very shortly. We can only hope that he succeeds this time!
Conclusion
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, unveiled his refreshed, boyish metaverse avatar on Friday. He posted it on Instagram after a horrific, dead-eyed version was mocked a few days earlier. The CEO also said that Meta’s Horizon Worlds metaverse platform would soon undergo significant improvements.
